Description

The Catholic Chaplain Associate is responsible for the assessment of spiritual needs and the provision of expert spiritual care, crisis intervention, and support to patients, their supporting community, and Howard County Hospital staff, under the direction of the Director of Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy.

The Catholic Associate Chaplain offers empathetic listening, presence and spiritual care interventions to patients as they deal with spiritual issues related to their illnesses or socio-economic circumstances that impact patient care and recovery.

Spiritual care interventions may include administering the following sacraments:
Anointing of the sick, communion, commendation of the dying or dead.
