    Description

    General Statement of Duties

    Recruits, screens applications, interviews, and coordinates the selection of certified and/or classified personnel.Consults with others to structure and conduct investigations.

    Essential Duties

    • Recruits, screens, interviews, and coordinates selection of full-time and part-time general education certified instructional staff at the middle school level to include all comprehensive middle schools, assigned district-level middle school roles, and alternative programs;
    • Revises, reviews and processes requests for "new assignment" placement;
    • Coordinates with the middle school instructional director and administrators regarding complement program;movement, and the placement of surplus
    • Participates in middle school principal meetings;
    • Maintains interview and selection logs and offers employment with appropriate salary placement;
    • Consults with principals and other supervisors to structure and conduct investigations;
    • Consults with principals and other leadership to address middle school extra-curricular needs;
    • Attends job fairs to recruit prospective teachers;
    • Participates on committees to include Teacher Scholars and RTR/VCU to increase teacher pipeline;
    • Works closely with principals or other leadership as main point of contact for employee relations issues;
    • Assists with Professional Growth Plan conferences when appropriate;
    • Counsels licensed personnel;
    • Verifies prior employment information;
    • Maintains meticulous records;
    • Consults with director, assistant director, and other specialists;
    • Works with school and department administrators to staff their locations;
    • Provides training and coaching to school administrators;
    • Attends work daily and be engaged in job responsibilities;
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working with teachers, emphasis on middle school education.A thorough knowledge of middle school education.

    Thorough knowledge of current, federal, state, and school division employment laws, policies, and regulations and ability to apply appropriately.

    Excellent speaking and writing skills.Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in all personnel matters and to work under pressure, demonstrates ability to use technology for communication and recordkeeping as well as recruitment and screening of applicants

    *Minimum annualized salary - $76, The salary for this position will be prorated based upon the official start date).
