- Develop and implement a comprehensive new business development strategy to achieve revenue, new clients, and growth objectives.
- Closely work with the CRM so that contacts are appropriately classified, tagged, and managed for future contact and pursuits.
- Develop Capture Plans for new opportunities.
- Incorporate evaluation criteria, necessary tools and resources, and potential costs involved in a best-in-class new business development strategy.
- Work as a subject matter expert to represent the sales organization to acquire new customers.
- Search out, evaluate, and report against potential new business customers based on key targeted criteria that has been agreed upon internally.
- Attend industry events to promote Company image and brand.
- Target and gain new business, while developing comprehensive knowledge of the business through its wide range of customers.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and potential growth opportunities.
- Strategize and plan industry events to ensure events are attended by decision makers and appropriate personnel and appeal to the client base.
- Cold call as appropriate to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. Track and report on a weekly basis.
- Identify and target influential people inside the client, customer, and third-party organization to build relationships and grow business.
- Target, develop, and utilize current network of influential internal and external contacts to generate new business.
- Develop proposals, presentations, and negotiate contracts.
- Prepare fully for negotiations, to include identifying desired outcomes and acceptable/ unacceptable compromise.
- Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
- Work in conjunction with cross functional internal teams (finance, marketing, operations, supply chain, R&D, quality) to construct winning bids which meet the needs of the client.
- Utilize Marketing Director to develop targeting strategies.
- Provide cross-functional collaboration to define complex issues, facilitate ideas, influence thinking, and build consensus around decisions.
- Participate as a member of the leadership team to execute business strategy.
- 50% domestic travel
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline.
- 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- 5 years sales management experience.
- Experience developing and executing new product and marketing plans.
- Experience prospecting and closing new accounts.
- MBA
- Experience in partnering and serving in senior leadership to develop new business strategies.
- Experience in a regulated industry, preferably cosmetic/beauty.
