Do you love to conduct research in mental health and substance abuse areas? Do you have a demonstrated commitment towards research and practice in improving mental health and substance use services to racial and ethnic minority populations and underrepresented populations? Join the Minority Fellowship Program team and help train Marriage (Couple) and Family Therapy graduate students improve mental health and substance abuse services to racial and ethnic minority populations and underrepresented populations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Presenting (and teaching) research workshops (and webinars) to MFP Fellows and accessing research skills, strengths, weaknesses, and evaluating research.
- Identifying key areas of concern and areas of improvement in research design and implementation
• Mentorship of doctoral students in quantitative and/or mixed methods research study design
• Ability to evaluate and review systemic and relational research
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including weekends

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Doctoral degree in Marriage (Couples) and Family Therapy, Family Studies, or Human Development is preferred
- Doctoral degrees in a mental health field/behavioral science/public health field will be considered
• Demonstrated competency and experience in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy as a researcher, educator and/or clinician is preferred
- Published a minimum of 1 – 2 quantitative articles using various statistical methods
• Demonstrated research skills in quantitative and/or mixed methods, advanced statistical analysis, and research study designs
• Published in quantitative and/or mixed methods research with doctoral students is preferred
• Knowledge of cultural competency and/or substance abuse related to the mental health field
• Strong communication, technical writing, and organizational skills; attention to detail is a must

Salary, based upon contract hours, $180/hr. This is a grant funded-position and is contingent upon grant funding.
