    We have an open position for a Senior Construction Project

    Manager to

    work onsite for one of our clients in the Long Beach, CA area.


    Employment Type:

    $170,000-$200,000

    Qualifications of the Sr


    Construction Project Manager:
    Provide senior-level project leadership (see description of duties below)
    20+ years of experience in public works projects
    Design-Build and/or Progressive Design-Build Experience
    Institutional/Higher education experience preferred
    CSU experience is a plus but not required
    Ability to supervise and lead the design and construction team(s)

    Duties of the Sr.

    Construction Project Manager include but are not limited to:

    Responsible for managing the Design and Construction process

    Leads project collaboration progress including initial planning, scope development, contracting, construction administration, and closeout; maintains day-to day project level leadership responsibility throughout the project life cycle.

    Responsible for preparing, managing, and supporting the documentation required for a post-performance review, audit, or other governing agency process inspection.

    Manages and monitors contract budgets; interacts with the Division Fiscal Manager to reconcile contracts and budgets and to report on monthly cash flow activities
    Guides design decisions by project stakeholders, to maintain the project scope within the approved budget. Coordinates the value engineering process.
    Prepares schematic, preliminary, and construction document submittals for review by the Board of Trustees and other boards as required.

    Assists in the preparation of presentation materials for bi-annual Campus Planning Committee meetings, monthly project updates and other executive-level presentations.

    Obtains or assists in the procurement of all required plan reviews prior to bidding.

    These include, but are not limited to the State Fire Marshal, Division of the State Architect, plan check agencies for life safety and code compliance, Seismic Peer Review, Mechanical Systems Review, Commissioning (if necessary), or other agencies that may be necessary based on the scope of work for the project.

    Ensures compliance with regulations and all authorities having jurisdiction.

    Position Requirements
    Proven working experience in construction management (minimum five years)
    Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
    Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
    Understanding all facets of the construction process
    Familiarity with construction management software packages
    Experienced in education-building infrastructure preferred
    Experienced in DSA codes and procedure
    Leadership and human resources management skills
    Excellent time and project management skills
    BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field. Alternatively, an inspection diploma or another related construction trade diploma
