    Financial Registration Counselor

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:
    Deals directly with patients or responsible parties to review costs, insurance coverage and payment requirements.
    As necessary, contacts insurance companies to verify patient's insurance coverage
    Knowledgeable and experience with SalesForce and Eclipsys is preferred
    Have excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills

    Must have the following excellent customer service skills which include but not limited to: communication skills, problem solving for clients, positive attitude at all times, and quick response time.

    Develops and implements reports in the Eclipsys system and uses WQM to follow up on past due accounts.
    Reviews self-pay accounts to make contact with responsible parties and arranges payment according to the hospital payment policy.

    Discuss with the Director of Patient Accounts the inability or unwillingness of any patient or responsible party to meet the cost of treatment.

    Reviews delinquent accounts which have been submitted to insurance carriers to ascertain reason for nonpayment and takes appropriate action.
    Reconciles and applies contractual allowances and provides an account summary for each patient account. Enters denials into Eclipsys when received by insurance carriers.
    Assists in Patient Accounts Department as may be required. Substitutes for staff on vacation or during periods of illness.
    Maintains an orderly, neat, clean and safe work area, including proper maintenance and safe storage of computer equipment.
    Runs monthly trial balance and maintains current with aging of accounts; alerting manager of any potential issues.
    This position is full time, 8:30AM to 9:00PM, three 12-hour shifts a week. BA/BS is preferred, prior experience in a mental health or medical setting is required.
