    LOCATION: Lakeville License Center, Burnsville License Center

    There are currently two openings for this position- one at our Lakeville License Center that will start on 5/2/24, and one at our Burnsville License Center that will start on 7/2/24.

    This manager is responsible for directing the operational activities of the Lakeville/Burnsville License Center. They plan and prioritize the work assignments, ensure training needs are met, and evaluate work performance. They properly schedule work hours and coordinate the work plan of the staff accordingly. The individual in this position works in cooperation with Assessing Services, and Property Taxation & Records to provide accurate information to customers. These positions have extended hours on certain evenings.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in business, management, public administration or related field, AND
    • Five years progressively responsible supervisory or lead worker experience in a government office setting.
    OR
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    These examples do not include all possible tasks in this work and do not limit the assignment of related tasks in any position of this classification. Regular attendance according to the position's management approved work schedule is required for all positions.

    1. Directs banking functions, including cash transactions and deposits. Evaluate and coordinate the purchase, utilization and maintenance of department fixed assets.
    2. Prepare independent responses to inquiries requiring thorough knowledge of laws, department programs, policies, and procedures.
    3. Oversee, plan and coordinate section activities. Ensure all statutory and departmental requirements are met.
    4. Conduct section staff meetings, develop and implement team-building activities.
    5. Administer and manage programs within assigned areas.
    6. Manage, plan, and conduct assigned research and special projects for the department and division directors; lead and participate in various team projects and committees.
    7. Coordinate evaluation and implementation of new software, computer equipment, and monitor existing programs to ensure needs are met.
    8. Maintain statistical data and report section transactions to the director.
    9. Serves as a county representative and primary contact for the section. Works closely with other departments and agencies in order to meet the needs of those customers in an efficient and effective manner.
    10. Develop, modify, and implement policies and procedures. Participate in department policy and program development.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily sedentary, although there is some walking, travel, and carrying of lightweight items such as briefcases, notebooks, and work papers. Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. May require occasional travel.
