    Pennington Biomedical Research Center

    , a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University,

    is seeking

    Program Coordinator in the Physical Activity and Obesity Epidemiology Laboratory.
    This position will provide administrative coordination support to a collection of programs, including LAUNCHED Program.

    LAUNCHED is a highly innovative training program with the long-term goal of increasing the success rate of underrepresented scientists competing for federal research funding in the fields of nutrition, obesity, and diabetes.

    Located in the Deep South, LAUNCHED is focusing on providing training to scientists in Louisiana and neighboring states. The LAUNCHED Program includes a cohort of underrepresented scholars receiving mentorship, training, and grant writing opportunities.

    The Program Coordinator will also provide administrative support to support the goals and objectives of other research programs in the Physical Activity and Obesity Epidemiology Laboratory.

    Major Responsibilities
    Provide administrative support for faculty in relation to all internal and external professional

    duties/responsibilities.

    Initiate agreements with partners, consultants, or external organizations to facilitate implementation of identified strategies for achieving deliverables. Work directly with LAUNCHED cohort scholars and grant recipients to ensure timely achievement of deliverables and associated payment.

    Track status of grants and projects. Identify problems and formulate plans to resolve them accordingly.

    Write and edit reports, presentations, meeting materials, or other deliverables for multiple audiences, with oversight from leadership.

    Collaborate with Pennington Biomedical scientists and scientists external to Pennington Biomedical.


    Support program deliverables, including but not limited to, conferences, seminars, meetings, summits, trainings, provision of technical assistance, provision of professional development events, etc.

    Ensure program faculty and staff availability for necessary training and meetings.

    Assist with conference and meeting planning, including travel arrangements for project faculty and staff.

    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, accounting or related field.

    Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional office setting.

    Sensitivity to confidential matters; a high degree of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.

    Highly organized with a proven ability to provide extreme attention to detail and meet deadlines.

    High degree of professionalism, sensitivity, and integrity.

    Exemplary time management skills and judgment.

    Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple deadlines and competing demands.

    Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
