YouthBuild:

RUTH YouthBuild: RUTH YouthBuild is a leadership development program for participants aged 16-24, encompassing a WASC-accredited high school diploma and hands-on paid vocational training.

RUTH YouthBuild offers an authentic project-based curriculum grounded in social justice and holistic wrap-around supportive services to ensure participants have all they need to succeed.


Position:

The YouthBuild Program Coordinator will support the Program Manager in ensuring all programmatic logistics of the RUTH YouthBuild Program operate in accordance with the Department of Labor and YouthBuild USA Policies and Procedures and comply with all ACE policies.

The YB Coordinator serves as the Program lead when the YouthBuild Manager is not working
.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Possesses at least moderate knowledge of the role and duties of the position; understands the department's roles and is able to meet the expectations of the position for work schedule, punctuality, attendance, time management, productivity, and quality of work

  • Recognizes appropriate boundaries and limitations on interactions with program participants and their families and the need to maintain professional standards and practices.
  • Is familiar with standard approaches to accurate participant record keeping, including timely charting, notation formats, content limitations, and confidentiality practices.
  • Possesses knowledge of programs, regulations, and procedures regarding human services, social services, justice, and workforce development.
  • Knowledge of community dynamics within the valley.
  • Able to work in assigned locations that may expose oneself to hazardous conditions or in extreme physical or discomfort or distress.
  • Ability to assess conditions and responsiveness to interventions and restorative practices.
  • Possesses necessary deescalation skills to ensure safety

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends and participates in all mandatory meetings.
  • Fosters positive relationships with community members, partner organizations, and local gangs.
  • Participate in cultural and communitybuilding activities/events.
  • Works to incorporate into organizational culture best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, restorative justice, and traumainformed care.
  • Supports in the recruitment and retention of participants
  • Monitors intake and eligibility determinations and makes appropriate referrals when the applicant is not eligible for ACE services
  • Collects workshop signin sheets and participant surveys
  • Develop and coordinate program activities to build and maintain program culture, such as Transformative Leadership Circle activities, Community Action Projects, Family Celebrations, Spirit Weeks, Community Events, etc.
  • Complete and submit workshop, event, and field trip required documentation before and after events
  • Provide transportation of participants to meet program goals
  • Enter data into several participant databases; assists in the writing of periodic program reports.
  • Ensures program participants receive services in the event of staff turnover or leave of absence
  • Collect and prepare marketing material for tabling events and community engagement
  • Lead the creation and modification of marketing materials for the program services, events, and workshops
  • Conduct surveys of program impact; analyze survey results to inform the Program Manager of results and suggest appropriate changes or modifications to programming according to the data
  • Submit order requests for marketing and event needs efficiently and effectively
  • Provide technical assistance to all YB team members
  • Create and present training on YB Policies and Procedures related to the role and responsibilities
