    Under the direct supervision of the Administrator II, within the Financial Systems and Support Unit, the Accountant Trainee performs professional accounting work for the Accounting Section.


    The Accountant Trainee performs various duties such as:

    researching, reviewing, analyzing, monitoring, establishing, and maintaining financial records; including the documentation of development/modification, and implementation of new and/or existing accounting systems and procedures.

    The Accounting Trainee researches and analyzes unclaimed property listed in Franchise Tax Board (FTB)'s name; and facilitates the requesting and distribution of reports within and outside the Section.

    Separation of Duties
    The duties of this position include responsibilities covered by SAM Section 7280.

    To ensure proper separation of duties, you may not be eligible for this position if a family member (husband, wife, brother or sister) works in the Accounting Section.

    Working Conditions

    This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need.

    Once in-person training is complete, FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.
