    We are the largest and oldest not-for-profit provider of mental/chemical dependency treatment in southwest Washington with 200 employees and a history dating back to 1942.Starting Pay Range - $21.48 to $23.


    40/hourSchedule:
    Monday - Friday, 1130a-830pm, with 1 hour lunch

    Position Description:

    Provide direct services including de-escalation, safety planning and case management to decrease risk factors and increase success in the community.

    The Community Support Specialist functions as a fully integrated team member to provide expertise about the recovery process, symptom management, and the persistence required by clients to have a satisfying life.

    Collaborates to promote a team culture that recognizes, understands, and respects each client's point of view, experiences, and preferences.

    Responsible to maximize client choice, self-determination and decision-making in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment, rehabilitation and support services.

    Job Functions:
    Use evidence-based modalities to establish rapport and facilitate active engagement in follow-up services.
    Provide interventions in the communityCollaborate with and appropriately refer to crisis services including Crisis teams and law enforcement.
    Conduct risk assessmentsDevelop Individual Safety plans that identify areas of risk and how to minimize that risk.
    Provide motivational interviewing skills to address/identify goalsParticipate in case consultation as indicated.
    Routinely assess for level of risk, and respond to reported escalations in the community.
    Develop and foster positive relationships with community partners, including service organizations, businesses, and other service providers.

    Coordinate care with relevant internal and external providers and informal supportsComplete all documentation and charting as required by law or agency contract.

    Collaborate with the team to promote a team culture in which each client's point of view, experiences, and preferences are recognized, understood, and respected, and in which client self-determination and decision-making in treatment planning are maximized and supported.

    Possess knowledge of client rights and ensure an atmosphere that allows for consumer privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe secure environment.

    Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures.

    Job Functions:
    Supports agency mission, goals, and objectives.
    Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled.

    Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and community at large, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.

    Use of personal transportation required.
    Other duties as assigned.


    Education, Licensing and Experience:
    Lived experience with Behavioral Health or Substance Use systems encouraged.

    Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health or Social Work preferredPeer Counselor Certification preferredCurrent, valid, and active driver's license with proof of personal insurance policy.

    Experience with crisis de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and community outreach preferred.
    Experience in providing support to persons with mental illness or severe emotional disturbances.
    Providing case management and treatment planning services preferred.
