    About the Role - Who You'll Work

    Our licensed clinicians (Child Well-Being Professionals) will report directly to the Clinical Supervisor (Supervisory Child Well-Being Professional) and will work with other workers/staff as applicable and as directed by potential government agencies. They will be on-site and on-call in a DHS facility to provide support through professional opinions, technical expertise, and technical assistance regarding child well-being and trauma informed care.

    What You'll Do
    • Under this contract, licensed clinicians (Child Well-Being Professionals) will work at sites along the U.S. border supporting children entering the United States with behavioral health screenings and services. Children may be traveling alone or with their families.
    • Integrate across stakeholder groups, supporting agents and staff in providing child-focused, trauma-informed services to the children and the DHS agents and staff.
    • Escalate identified psychosocial needs and provide direct care to children in crisis.
    • Coordinate seamless referral of children to community behavioral or physical health providers, if necessary.
    • Assist in the coordination of care for children who have special needs or ongoing physical, mental, or behavioral health concerns.
    • Serve as a daily resource, working alongside DHS staff to inform and coordinate decision making.
    • Facilitate continuity of care as children are transferred.
    • Assist in the documentation and information transfer for individual cases
    • Provide necessary information regarding child wellbeing during meetings at the facility level.
    • Conduct environmental scans of the facilities to recommend and implement appropriate and operationally feasible measures are taken to create a child-friendly environment.
    • Perform other related scope of practice duties, as assigned
    • Complete all necessary documentation in systems of record within required timeframes.
    Minimum Qualifications & Skills
    • Master's degree in social work or an equivalent degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant Behavioral Science.
    • Independent and unrestricted licensure in social work, counseling, or related field required.
    • 2 or more years of demonstrated experience post-full licensure working with children, to include the direct provision of services, evaluations, and crisis intervention.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish, and/or Haitian Creole, and/or French, required.
    • Ability to handle crisis intervention, conflict, confrontation, or other complex situations with compassion and decisiveness.
    • Have experience working in a multidisciplinary team-based environment.
    • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Experience in children's behavioral health diagnoses; evidence-based techniques for treating trauma, loss, and grief; best practices in mental health triage; and behavioral health needs of migrant and vulnerable populations
    • Demonstrated ability to support a diverse group of clients, including refugees or other immigrant families.
    • Must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, MS Teams.
    • Knowledge of state, community, and agency resources for victims of abuse, preferred.
    • Experience in a clinical or immigration setting, strongly preferred.
    The Work Environment
    • Location--- onsite at assigned CBP processing center. Some remote work may be possible if directed by government agency.
    • Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
    • Available to travel, as required. NOTE: Deployment/Travel is Mandatory, Travel must occur within 72 hours of deployment notification from the government. Deployments are generally up to 180 days or longer. Length of assignment is determined by the government's need. Program leadership makes every effort to place Field Child Well-Being Professionals close to their home area.
    • Tasks/assignments are dynamic and will change based on client needs and resource availability, meaning Field Child Well-Being Professionals are expected to provide additional administrative support, including the completion of data entry and paperwork, as required.
    Work Schedule
    • This contract operates on a 24x7x365 basis.
    • Due to the importance of this position, employees supporting this contract may be required to work extended hours including evening work, support on-call assignments, and work weekends to support time-sensitive or real-time complex services
    • This position is considered ESSENTIAL - Field Child Well-Being Professionals are required to report and work during emergencies or crises, including inclement weather, natural and man-made disasters, etc.
    Conditions of employment
    • Complete a rigorous culture and competency testing process, to include a language assessment test
    • Be able to maintain licensure in good standing
    • Complete a Drug Test
    • A valid US Driver's license
    • Be at least 21 years of age
    • Have the ability to obtain a Tier 2 Clearance
    • Available to travel as necessary
    Security Clearance/Background Check Requirements
    • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
    • Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
    • Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years
    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
    • Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to walk sites and attend meetings with other stakeholders and employees.
    • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 10% of the time.
    • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 10% of the time.
    • Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 35% of the time.
    • Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
