Outpatient Intake Counselor Opportunity (Free independent license supervision for social worker/therapist and professional counselor applicants)

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults suffering from mental health and addictive illnesses through partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization, as well as specialized treatment programs for chemical dependency. PVBH has an excellent reputation as an innovative hospital with caring, dedicated staff, experienced in the delivery of behavioral healthcare. Situated in Tucson, AZ, at the base of the Catalina Foothills, PVBH is minutes to Saguaro National Park and the University of Arizona.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic intake counselor/ clinician to do the following:

  • Interviewing and assessing potential clients to determine their needs and suitability for the programs
  • Providing information and guidance to clients regarding available services and resources
  • Completing intake paperwork and maintaining accurate client records
  • Collaborating with other staff members to develop and implement effective treatment plans and program placement
  • Diagnosing and treating mental illness
  • Perform crisis interventions with patients
  • Facilitate group therapy

Qualifications:

Education:
Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field, licensed RN or Masters in Social Work.


Experience:
Clinical assessment, evidence-based therapeutic modalities, as listed in job description. Familiarity with psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting


Licensure/Certification Required:
Licensure through the Board of Behavioral Health, or RN licensure (LMSW, LAC, etc.)
