Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Informatics Professional to join our healthcare team. The Nurse Informatics professional integrates nursing science with multiple information and analytical sciences. The Nurse Informatics position will identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge within the nursing practice.

Additionally, the Nurse Informatics position will track, participate in monitoring El Rio Health's clinical, regulatory compliance, patient safety and performance activities.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Supports a robust informatics program within El Rio Health.
  • Collects information from departments, clinicians, health workers, vendors, and internal and external customers regarding electronic system development, implementation, issues, and recommendations and utilization of best practices.
  • Works with the informatics team to translate health system strategies and requirements into strategic informatics implementation plans for EMR/EHR, such as the development of governance structures related to data collection, retrieval, analysis, and interpretation to assist in optimization of patient outcomes and/or effectiveness, and efficiency (using clinical decision support tools and embedded Evidence Based Practice where appropriate).
  • Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine the appropriate informatics workflow for clinical or related functions when appropriate, ensuring consistency with professional standards of practice and mandated requirements.
  • Works with EHR Training team and others to provide ongoing end user EMR/EHR and key systems education and support, with upgrades, new releases, enhanced functionality, and new modules.
  • Supports programs and activities that contribute to individual and group staff development and capacity building.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, and private laws, and regulations in relation to clinical documentation and electronic medical records.

  • Researches, generates, and distributes complex and detailed statistical/analytical reports and/or summary information using principles and practices of professional and technical report writing.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with other members of the health care team for effective interdisciplinary care including but not limited to the Chief Clinical Operations Officer, Nursing Directors and Health Center managers.
  • Participates in the production and distribution of communications related to technology through active internal networking, clinical liaison role, newsletters, announcements, and other technologybased mechanisms to health professionals.

Minimum Education and Experience:


  • A Degree or Diploma as a Registered Nurse (RN) from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
  • Three (3) years' experience in clinical ambulatory setting.
  • If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job._

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:


  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing from the Arizona Board of Nursing.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.
  • Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver's license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.

Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:


  • Master's Degree in nursing informatics from an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
  • Three (3) years' experience supporting ambulatory, EHR, preferably Epic.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.
