    Position Overview:
    The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in the financial health and sustainability of our organization.

    Responsible for ensuring the integrity and transparency of our financial operations, this individual will lead the finance team in building robust financial models, maintaining product margin integrity, and overseeing the end-to-end accounting process.

    In this strategic yet hands-on role, the Director of Finance will drive financial planning, analysis, and reporting, working collaboratively with other department heads to align financial strategies with the company's operational goals.


    Key Competencies:

    Financial Acumen:
    Deep understanding of financial principles, practices, and applications including forecasting, financial modeling, and budgeting.

    Technical Proficiency:
    Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools. Ability to develop and interpret complex financial models.

    Strategic Thinking:
    Ability to align financial management strategies with the organization's operational needs and long-term business objectives.

    Detail-Oriented:
    Ensuring accuracy in all financial activities, from intricate financial modeling to day-to-day bookkeeping.


    Leadership:
    Proven experience in leading finance teams, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Communication Skills:


    Exceptional ability to convey complex financial data in clear, concise terms to a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.


    Responsibilities:

    Forecasts, Modelling, and Budgeting:
    Develop comprehensive financial models to support decision-making.

    Conduct regular financial forecasting and work closely with department heads to ensure budgets are adhered to, optimized, and aligned with company goals.


    End-to-End Accounting Oversight:

    Purchase to Pay:
    Oversee the entire procure-to-pay process, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments and cost tracking.

    Order to Cash:
    Monitor the order-to-cash cycle, ensuring timely invoicing, accurate revenue recognition, and efficient cash collection.

    Record to Report:


    Lead the record-to-report process, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately captured, reconciled, and reported in compliance with industry standards and regulations.


    Product Margin Integrity:
    Ensure the integrity of product margins by monitoring cost structures and pricing strategies. Collaborate with the product and sales teams to understand cost drivers and optimize profitability.

    Financial Reporting:
    Deliver regular and ad-hoc financial reports to leadership and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.

    Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:
    Ensure that all financial operations comply with state and federal laws and regulations. Stay abreast of industry trends and changes to ensure the organization's financial compliance.
    Team

    Leadership:
    Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting best practices in financial management and reporting.


    Location:


    Candidates in or near or ready to relocate to Chicago preferred; open to remote and travel arrangements for the right individual.


    Compensation:
