    Job DescriptionThe Staff Accountant Clerk will be responsible for entering and managing
    payables and receivables, data entry, month end reconciliation support work, and data
    manipulation for multiple branches. This position includes processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable accounting functions, vendor audits, complying with standard accounting procedures, error checks, billing, cash management transaction entry; and will primarily be assisting Senior Staff Accountants with HQ and branch transactions.

    Hourly rate commensurate with experience $ hourly. Full competitive benefits package including retirement plans included.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities
    • Responsible for data entry and processing of payables and receivables transactions.
    • Coordinate with Finance team for receiving A/P invoices that need to be processed and copies of cash receipts that have been deposited into the bank.
    • Review invoices for proper approval and enter into accounting system for payment; coordinate with appropriate person for check signing.
    • Review and process credit card expenses and receipts following ASYMCA accounting and corporate card use policies and procedures.
    • Facilitate streamlining of transaction entry for all branches.
    • Accrue for any applicable revenue earned or expenses incurred.
    • Create journal entries relating to items processed.
    • Performs general account analysis of balance sheet accounts.
    • Produce and issue timely and complete financial reports as needed.
    • Perform data requests for other departments relating to receivables and payables.
    • Maintain the pledge and accounts receivable schedules.
    • Assist with schedules and support needed for annual audit and Form 990 tax filing.
    • Follow priorities and goals for daily work and projects.
    • Assist with software that facilitates reconciling AP and credit card transactions.
    • Maintain check and balance systems and controls to verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and prevent common data entry errors.
    • Maintain and follow corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure conformance with GAAP and internal accounting and reporting guidelines.

    Qualifications
    Education & Experience:
    • Associate's degree in Accounting/related Finance field with minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting position required (or equivalent credit hours/experience).
    • Accounts payable experience required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/related field is preferred.

    Knowledge & Skills:
    • Excellent data entry skills with low error rate.
    • Excellent written, verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with nonprofit organizations preferred.
    • Experience with Sage Intacct accounting system preferred

    Other:
    Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
    • Able to perform sedentary work including working at a workstation and performing repetitive keyboarding activities.
    • Able to operate general office equipment. Visual and hearing acuity necessary to operate equipment, use telecommunication, read fine print, and utilize a computer monitor throughout the course of a normal workday.
    • Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Some physical effort may be required.
