Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist
A commercial construction company (subcontractor), located in the District of Columbia, in need of a skilled Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable Manager to provide financial, administrative and clerical services.
AP/AR duties require accuracy and efficiency of operations. Processing invoices and monthly requisitions. Managing the A/R to maintain positive cash flow. Reconciliation of accounts. Weekly accounts receivable calls and reports. Hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, or 9:00am - 5:30pm. Some overtime may be necessary during the busy season.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables data
- Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
- Reconcile the accounts payable and receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients' billing issues
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
- Process purchase orders
- Work with the accountant to reconcile accounts, job cost reporting, etc. for financial statements.
Skills
- Proven working experience as accounts receivable clerk, accounts receivable manager or accountant
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Handson experience in operating spreadsheets
- Proficiency in English. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration a plus
Pay:
$60, $65,000.00 per year
