    Job Description

    Consults with leaders to provide support, guidance, and direction relative to policies, procedures, and other employee relations matters. Partners with other HR disciplines such as Recruiting, Learning and Employee Health to solution identified opportunities. Develops and facilitates Employee Relations training to a variety of audiences. Investigates and provides recommendations regarding employee disputes through approved human resources practices.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources
    • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with employees at all levels
    • Demonstrated experience facilitating groups to successful outcomes
    • Proven experience influencing leaders using data, reasoning, and persuasion
    • Experience driving effective resolution to a variety of situations with a high degree of discretion and judgment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's degree
    • Business experience in multiple industries
    • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, etc.)
    Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related are

    • Working knowledge of federal and state employment law and regulations.
    • Ability to balance employer and employee advocacy.
    • Proven ability to make judgement calls and sound, ethical decisions displaying a heightened level of responsibility, confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
    • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills and managing in ambiguity, while building effective cross functional relationships/partnerships.
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong change management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • Successful track record identifying and providing human resources solutions and counsel.
    • Must be able to develop and manage projects and deliver measurable impact.
    • Capable of handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Ability to work as a member of a collaborative team.
    Job Responsibilities
    • Manage employee relations processes to ensure a proactive, fair, and consistent approach to resolutions.
    • Provide support, advice, counsel, and guidance to employees and people managers at all levels of the organization regarding employee relations matters, i.e., human resources policies, initiatives, performance management/disciplinary action, investigations, leave of absence, ADA, etc.
    • Consult and partner with Human Resources Business Partners and Centers of Excellence (Recruiting, Total Rewards, Learning, D&I, etc.) to effectively diagnose and respond to issues or conduct project work for assigned business areas.
    • Lead complex employee relations investigations; effectively summarize findings and mitigation opportunities and ensure timely follow-up. Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and D&I to address complaints of unfair or inappropriate treatment, discrimination, and/or compliance complaints concerning human resources matters, such as, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, DOL, Title VII, OSHA, etc.
    • Reporting: Maintain reporting on performance notices, terminations, retention, investigations, and related actions; prepare monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports, and presentations as needed. Ensure accuracy and completeness of case/investigations in case management system.
    • Trend Analysis: Share trends that lead to discussions and/or actions for improvement or sustainability within HR or with leadership; analyze data and reports that monitor and measure Employee Relations' effectiveness.
    • Training: Provide training to people managers regarding manager effectiveness, employment law, and workplace trends.
    • Policy Review: Assist with establishing a policy framework; create and update policies as needed.
    • Collaborate with leaders and internal partners (e.g., Employee Health, Security, Pharmacy) on fit for duty assessments, terminations, drug testing for cause, and drug diversion investigations.
    • Partner with Regulatory, Quality, Recruitment, Learning, and others in preparing for and responding to regulatory reviews and audits, such as, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.
    • Consult with Legal on matters including leaves of absence, ADA, job eliminations, and terminations to ensure consistency and mitigate risk.
