Description
Our client is a family-owned $50M+ construction company based in the South Puget Sound.They have experienced significant growth over the past several years and are looking to backfill an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller level position for someone transitioning within the company.
This position will oversee all GL Accounting, financial close and reporting for the company while managing a team of accountants.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is an opportunity for someone to grow in responsibility as the company grows.Responsibilities
GL / CLOSE - Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with the monthly and annual financial close process.
FINANCIAL REPORTING - Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and adherence to accounting principles and regulations.SYSTEMS - Manage and maintain the Company's financial reporting and job costing systems.
COMPLIANCE - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
TAX - Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual excise, business, and occupation tax returns.
MANAGE - Lead and supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance and training.
BACKUP - Provide backup to the accounting team during absences.
INTERNAL CONTROLS - Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
AUDIT - Coordinate external audits and prepare necessary documentation and support.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS - Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements within the accounting function.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA/CPA preferred.
Previous experience managing GL accounting, journal entries with a strong contribution to financial close and reporting highly deesired.
Public accounting experience preferred. Open to a candidate coming directly out of public accounting.
Proficiency in financial software systems and tools.
