    Ulla Johnson is seeking a Retail Director to join the team

    As a direct report to the CEO, the Retail Director will spearhead the enhancement of retail KPIs, elevate the brand experience within our boutiques to best-in-class standards, instill a retail-centric ethos within our corporate team, and play a pivotal role in facilitating our expansion through new store openings.

    Overview:

    • Contribute to the development and articulation of Ulla Johnson retail strategy across all levels of the organization. Put a plan in place for continued top-line growth and bottom line profitability.
    • Monitor sales performance, retail KPIs, non-selling activities, team structures and identify solutions to drive business performance.
    • Ensure monthly and quarterly sales goals are being met and the team is supported and motivated to get there.
    • Build and deliver a retail program of processes and procedures that ensures operational excellence across all stores

    Staffing:

    • Hire and train all store managers and support all hiring processes.
    • Identify and coach team members on how to drive an efficient and profitable business (front and back of the house)
    • Ensure we have successful on-boarding and training programs for the retail channel
    • Lead store teams in creating and delivering local community engagement both in-store and via social channels. Partner with Corporate Communications team.
    • Ensure exceptional product knowledge and sustainable, high service standards.
    • Support company plans to merge the omni customer service experience 7 days a week and expand a high-touch approach for online to match offline.
    • Create a culture of clientele and business building for all associates along with report metrics for clientele building.
    • Mentor and lead store managers and all store staff. Work closely on career and skill development opportunities with all staff.
    • Reconsider goal and bonus structure at retail.
    • Foster a supportive team selling approach. Collaboration is key

    Operations:

    • Streamline and drive operational logistics and procedures creating seamless and integrated processes focused on an elevated customer experience, store ease-of-use, omni-channel approach and consistency to brand standards, always striving for excellence.
    • Support, as a key stakeholder, all Inventory Control, Internal Control and Asset Protection initiatives
    • Oversee inventory processes to reduce shrinkage, including quarterly cycle counts & annual physical inventory
    • Work with key stakeholders to continue developing efficiencies for the omni fulfillment processing
    • Contribute to seasonal buys
    • Further development analysis and reporting structure
    • Partner for store construction and retail project management on new store openings and expansion.

    Salary Range: $125,000-155,000

    About the company:

She has never wavered on her steadfast attention to the details of construction that have become her hallmark, basing each of her collections on a foundation of natural fibers, beautiful finishing, and ease of fit and form. Ulla lives in Brooklyn with her husband and three children.
