    Project Architect Position at Well-Established Architecture & Design Studio - Hybrid Work Model

    Are you passionate about overseeing multiple projects while guiding and supporting a team of budding talent? Do you thrive on getting your hands dirty with daily sketches, collaborating with consultants, and ensuring your team's success? Does being involved in a project from inception to fruition bring you immense satisfaction?

    If you answered yes, Studio Vara is on the lookout for a Project Architect:

    Collaborate with principals and Project Managers to supervise all project phases from initial design to construction administration, including permits and plan reviews.

    This is a full-time exempt role from 9-6 Monday-Friday, offering a hybrid work setup between our SF mission district studio and remote work.

    • Comprehensive benefits package including employer-paid medical, dental & vision insurance, PTO, and 401k.
    • Competitive salary range of $110k - $134k per year, based on experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    Serve as the main point of contact for construction administration and consultant coordination.

    Lead the detailing and comprehensive documentation of project interiors & exteriors, collaborating on designs with the principals and team.

    Create basic specifications and timelines.

    Assign tasks to the team, manage deadlines for deliverables, renderings, presentations, and research efficiently.

    Create and oversee project schedules, work plans, client communications, and records.

    Review designs and documentation for compliance with Planning and Building Codes.

    Ensure documents meet quality assurance/quality control standards.

    Adhere to Studio VARA's best practices, process standards, and CAD protocols.

    Requirements:

    7-10 years of experience in multi-family, luxury residential, or commercial projects.

    Graduate from an accredited architecture school.

    Proficiency in Revit is essential.

    Understanding of Type V construction, with experience across all design and construction phases.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, positive demeanor, and ability to take client feedback positively.

    Experience in mentoring junior staff - overseeing production tasks and project documentation.

    Keen eye for modern design and exceptional attention to detail.

    Preferred Skills:

    Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, V-Ray, 3D Max, and Enscape.

    4-5 years of project management or team leadership experience.

    Proficiency in AutoCAD.

    California architect license or in the process of obtaining one.
