The Automotive Sales Manager will be responsible for expanding our current relationships with key automotive customers as well as creating and managing new opportunities with potential automotive accounts.
The individual will be accountable for achieving the key metrics for growing sales and profitability as set by National Material Company's (NMC) Commercial leadership team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Expand and develop new business within the company's core automotive related markets by pursuing strategic targets in these industries and cultivating deeper relationships with existing and new clients.
Identify market and industry trends to optimize the Company's product pipeline and drive more value-added services for current and new business.
Meeting and engaging with the Sales and Customer Service teams on a regular basis to ensure consistent and cohesive progress and direction within accounts.
Strengthen relationships by spending time on site with customers as needed.Co-Owner of material forecast process for all customers.
Continually identify opportunities for margin enhancement.
Provide management with the necessary reporting on a regular and ad hoc basis.
Utilizes functional resources to develop opportunities and identify opportunities for customer/supplier enhancements.
Own the customer relationship by ensuring consistent and timely follow-up to customer and key stakeholder inquiries; operate with a sense of urgency.
Builds cross functional team and customer trust, values others, creative problem solving, and demonstrates high integrity.Instills a passion for driving deep relationships with core customers.
Year One Critical Success Factors:
Meet Annual Operating Plan targets.
Demonstrate working knowledge of NMC products and services.
Establish relationships with customer base, and successfully establish new incremental business within assigned territory
Education and Experience:
1-2 years of Inside Sales in metals industry a plus
1-2 years of outside sales in metals industry specifically calling on Automotive OEM's.
Significant experience building account relationships within automotive markets.
Bachelor's degree
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent negotiation skills, ability to negotiate high volume contracts.
Ability to manage complex projects.
Unquestioned integrity
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical & metric driven.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Basic knowledge of Customer Relationship Management software (CRM).
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to strive in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel 50% or more
