    Description

    Develop, implement and improve maintenance standards for substation equipment

    • Develop, implement and improve design standards for substation design

    • Work with project teams to specify and purchase large equipment to ensure alignment with ongoing projects. Interface with various manufacturers to oversee manufacturing quality and to ensure on time delivery

    • Support Inside Plant maintenance team and Electric Division operations for all substation related issues

    • Work directly with Asset Management leaders to strategize and develop long term substation strategies, business plan development

    • Work with Utility finance to ensure substation O&M activities are both prudend and align with financial guidance

    • Provide direct project support as required for the above

    • Resolve complex problems and lead/participate in root cause analysis

    • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise level of competency in the area of substation engineering

    • Develop and deliver non-routine technical training

    • Represent the Company position on standards and procedures to industry, regulatory agencies, on technical and standards committees

    • Provide direction and leadership for technical group including planning workforce and skill requirements and developing group strategies and internal interfaces and enhance group effectiveness by resolving disputes and removing roadblocks

    Job Specific Qualifications

    Required:


    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

    • 10 years' experience working in energy industry

    • Previous management/supervisory experience with proven leadership qualities

    • Fundamental understanding of Substation design and large equipment

    • Understanding of existing PSE&G design standards

    • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills

    • Strong business, compliance and strategic focus

    • Planning, organizational, and project management skills

    • Energetic and focused on seeking successful outcomes

    • Ability to interact with people at all levels both internally and externally

    • Must possess and maintain a valid US Driver's License

    • Must possess and use strong oral and written communication skills

    • Must possess demonstrated leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus

    Desired

    • Master's Degree in a related discipline

    • Professional Engineer (PE) License

    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

    10 years of experience
