    Description

    Job Summary
    Summary
    Provides custodian, groundskeeping, or warehousing services. Monitors bus safety and repair records, and tracks fuel usage, and ordering. Performs light maintenance on buses and other equipment.

    May drive a school bus over designated routes for the purpose of transporting students to and from school and on special trips.


    Distinguishing Career Features
    The Service Custodian is a journey, multi-skilled craftsperson, requiring journey-level experience and general competency in related areas.

    Service Custodian may advance to Lead Custodian, Warehouse Specialist, and Maintenance Specialist I by assuming custodial, groundskeeping, warehousing, food service, or other responsibilities.

    Advancement requires compliance with the stated qualifications in the desired fields. The Service Custodian may qualify for and drive a school bus over regular routes

    Education and Experience
    The position typically requires a high school diploma and 3 years of school bus and related transportation experience.

    Licenses and Certificates

    Requires valid Commercial Class A or B Driver's License with School Bus, Passenger, and Air Brake endorsements; medical examination card; valid California Special Driver Certificate; valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License; and valid CPR and First Aid Certification.


    Working Conditions
    Work is performed in offices, servicing stations, and highway traffic environments where some safety considerations exist.

    $1,000 signing bonus
