- have hands on experience in protein purification including chromatography separations and filtration operations
- to independently design, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments to answer scientific questions
- be forward-thinking and be able to lead and contribute to scientific/technical discussions
- to independently learn, understand and execute novel/advanced scientific techniques
- have excellent attention to detail and ability to keep detailed written records
- to author publications, technical reports, regulatory documents, and presentations
- strong communication skills including verbal, written, and scientific data presentation
- good understanding of biochemistry and bioprocess engineering concepts
- to work collaboratively within and outside of the group
- proficiency with Microsoft Office software, ability to learn new software applications
- with at least 3+ years experience is highly preferred for this role
- in writing methods and operating AKTA chromatographic instruments (such as AKTA Avant, AKTA Purifier, AKTA Pure, AKTA Ready or similar)
- a strong understanding of analytical techniques, such as HPLC and ELISA
- hands on experience with monoclonal antibody or antibody-like molecule purification at GMP, pilot and/or laboratory scale
- scientific aptitude through authorship of peer-reviewed publications
- a strong understanding of statistical analysis

Orion Group is seeking to hire a Scientist for our global pharmaceutical client's Biologics Protein Purification Team. We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join a talented team developing purification processes for GMP applications.
