Duties

:

Coordinate and assume responsibility for all aspects of research imaging studies

:

Manage and coordinate day-to-day lab activities, including (1) general upkeep of the lab (cleaning, inventory, stocking supplies, discarding expired products, securing controlled substances); (2) collecting biological samples; (3) training/guiding students/staff; and (4) sequestering, collating and maintaining records and databases of experimental methods, products, and findings from students/staff and sharing these with the PI in weekly meetings

Present research results orally and in writing through conference and journal articles and prepare and submit progress reports to the PI and stakeholders on a routine basis (e.g., weekly) and any other assignments that the principal investigator may request

Conduct postprocessing and analysis of image data sets to determine changes in cardiovascular physiology and anatomy over time

Analyze hemodynamic data sets to extract streamlines, pathlines, and volumetric flow measures, and report these to the research team and clinical collaborators

  • Applicants should have at least a Master's degree in Biomedical Imaging with a thorough knowledge of imaging modalities used in the in vivo diagnosis of disease.
  • The applicant must have a detailed knowledge of image processing algorithms and have the ability to segment in vivo image data sets based on signal intensity features.

To qualify for this With Out Compensation (WOC) position, you must meet the following qualification requirements

In addition to meeting the basic qualifications, you must demonstrate one year of qualifying specialized experience in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Planning and conducting scientific and health research project and program analysis and evaluation; maintaining databases used in scientific program evaluation; developing methodologies for tracking recurring requirements and progress of scientific research; and providing analytic and interpretative data used in formulating organizational policies and goals.

You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
