    Job Description

    Job Description

Downtown Artist & Label Services offers distribution, bespoke marketing solutions, and funding to entrepreneurial artists and their partners, ranging from emerging talent at the forefront of pop culture to the most storied managers and record labels. Downtown Music is owned and operated by Downtown Music Holdings. Downtown allows artists and their partners to achieve the same commercial success on digital sales and streaming platforms that they would expect of a major record label, without sacrificing any ownership in their works, control over their strategy, or their creative vision.

Downtown Artist & Label Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Partnerships Manager. In this role, you will build and maintain strong relationships with partners vital to Artist & Label Services. Responsibilities include assisting with new partner negotiations, managing existing relationships and compliance programs, driving new business opportunities, and resolving business issues related to partners.

In addition to external partner management work, you will also assist internal strategic projects and analyses that support business growth under the Partnerships and Products vertical. You possess outstanding communication skills and are an adept problem solver, capable of resolving complex contractual, technical, and financial issues with partners in order to best represent Downtown clients and programs

This hybrid role is open to candidates based in Los Angeles, CA, or New York, NY preferably but also willing to consider candidates in Portland, OR.

    What you'll be doing:
    • Build & maintain strong relationships with Digital Services Providers (DSPs) and other third-party services partners
    • Manage Artist & Label Services' compliance with DSP preferred partner programs: track requirements and collaborate with the Operations, Client Services, and Product teams to implement policies, processes, and platform changes needed to meet and retain preferred partnership status at DSPs
    • Develop Partner prioritization framework: synthesize and prioritize new DSP program and feature opportunities across Marketing, Business Affairs, Product and Client Services
    • Research, analyze, present, and execute against new DSP and catalog licensing opportunities
    • Work with royalty and finance teams to track income trends across DSP partners
    • Ideate & execute against strategic business development projects involving partners, and collaborate with the wider Downtown Global Digital Licensing & Partnerships teams on initiatives to drive customer acquisition and revenue optimization
    You are / have:
    • 3+ years of work experience in the music industry in a client or partner-facing role at a label, in artist management, or within a music distribution company or DSP
    • Excellent relationship-building capability – always with a professional and confident demeanor
    • Broad knowledge of the digital landscape and consumer trends + passion for independent music and music technology
    • A solid network of industry-specific connections, including key contacts at digital music services
    • Ability to field and prioritize incoming requests, manage escalations, and bring issues to resolution
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally. You should be able to confidently analyze raw data, draw insights, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid, and collaborative environment
Why you want to work here:
    • Ample opportunities to work with leaders and employees across multiple Downtown brands
    • Work in a collaborative environment full of mission driven, innovative, and passionate people
    • Be part of an open, welcoming, and inclusive culture
    • Rich benefit program (Medical, Dental, Vision), Life Insurance, 401k (with match)
    • Paid Volunteer Hours

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off.
