    **Assistant Buyer**

    New York, NY / Merchandising / Fulltime **About Dormify:**

    Dormify is THE destination for designing and outfitting a college dorm room, teen bedroom, or small apartment. The Company designs, manufactures, and curates a broad selection of high quality, unique and affordable on-trend dcor to personalize small living spaces. The brands integration of styling assistance with its omnichannel marketplace has made Dormify a cult-favorite brand for a powerful, loyal Gen Z audience.

    **The Role:**

    Dormify is looking for a product and customer-focused **Assistant Buyer** to support the Director of Merchandising with all aspects of developing and executing the strategic vision for a defined piece of the business. This person needs to be a strong communicator with internal and external partners and have strong attention to detail.

    The **Assistant Buyer** will report to the Director of Merchandising. This role is currently remote but will be expected to be in New York, NY in the future.

    **Responsibilities:**

    Participate in a variety of ongoing team projects including: trend and competitive analysis, product shopping and needs list and visual assortment building. * Create and update purchase orders. * Be a key participant in gathering sku details for the website and managing sku changes within the season. * Daily communication with vendors in the process of sourcing and developing products. * Pull and distribute weekly selling analysis reports and exercise an understanding of the key learnings and actions for a designated category. * Collaborate cross-functionally sharing all pertinent sku information, updates and follow-up. * Keep a pulse on new trends and product ideas

    **Skills & Qualifications:**

    1-2 years of merchandising and/or product development experience * Interest in a start-up ecommerce business * Passion for our college student customer and the home decor category * Retail Math acumen preferred * Bachelors degree preferred * Proficient with MS Office Suite (especially Excel and Google Sheets) and Shopify * **Strong business acumen.** Embodies curiosity, digging into the business and taking action to drive positive results * **Customer focused.** Demonstrates knowledge of the target customer and product trends. * **Innovative.** Able to problem solve, develop creative solutions and demonstrate resourcefulness. * Agile and adaptive to changing priorities and business demands.
