    Position Summary

    Responsible for managing all aspects of the institution's payroll and ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.

    Job Responsibilities


    • Drives best practice for payroll operations and reporting, payroll tax reporting and analysis while maintaining internal controls by developing and updating policies and procedures for centralized processes.
    • Process and transmit periodic and quarterly payroll taxes; also prepare and approve amended quarterly tax returns, if necessary, in conjunction with ADP.
    • Maintains payroll information/tables/files by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data. Oversees the maintenance of systems tables and files to ensure accurate and timely payments and reporting.
    • Responds to payroll related audit requests including the compilation of 990 payroll and benefit data as requested by the Controller.
    • Enforces government regulations as they relate to payroll, particularly to staff earnings and deductions as well as filing and reporting requirements.
    • Supervises and coordinates the preparation of various federal, state and city reports.
    • Submit New Hires to NYS department of taxation following NYS guidance.
    • Verifies and processes insurance and benefit related payments and deductions.
    • Set up new jurisdictions and manage multi‐state taxaon of applicable employees and relay critical information to ADP.
    • Supervise two payroll accountants and one assistant payroll manager.
    Education


    • Bachelor's Degree in related field
    Experience


    • Approximately 5 years of related experience.
    • Knowledge of ADP Smart Compliance tools preferred.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles.
