This is an onsite role.

Busy and well-established company in the City of Vernon in seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the organization's payroll functions.

Responsibilities include:

Manages the processing of multiple payrolls
Monitors adherence to approved policies and procedures
Implements processes to withhold legally required taxes and deductions from paychecks
Ensures compliance with payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
Supervises a team of payroll staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees
Ensures accurate accounting and reporting for payroll audits
Completes federal and state tax reporting, including Forms W
Processes payroll transactions and updates, including new hires and terminations
Maintains employee records
Provides constructive performance evaluations
Handles employee discipline and termination according to company policy
Recommends updates to payroll software and procedures
Interacts professionally and ethically with others
Follows department and company procedures

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Human Resource Management or Related Field
Minimum 6 years in payroll processing is required
Must have experience working in a union environment in a multistate company.
Prior supervisory or management experience
Must be proficient in Paylocity or a related payroll system.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Less than 20% travel requirement
Knowledge of tax withholding, voluntary deductions, garnishments and fringe benefits.
Proficient in Payroll laws, codes, rules, and regulations. Principles and techniques involved in payroll

- preparation, monitoring and control.
