Advise, guide and train client organizations on complex employee/labor relation issues. Assess risk to the business, then develop performance management and disciplinary strategies related to collective bargaining and represented employees. Participate in Union Negotiations as a subject matter expert.

Job Responsibilities:
Advise, guide, and train management on complex issues regarding the performance management of represented employees. Oversee the progressive discipline and the performance appraisal process;
Provides direction on discipline and termination matters, provide management feedback on written documents (i.e Interims, Performance Improvement Plans, Performance Appraisals, etc.).
Provide consultation and management training on issues such as Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR), employment regulations, mediation, problem solving, conflict resolution strategies, harassment, discrimination and employee leave regulations.
Advise, guide and train less experienced Labor Relations staff members.
Consult and guide client organizations on the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) including policy interpretation, historical information in areas such as intent of negotiations and agreements.
Foster an effective ongoing partnership with union leadership to maintain trust, credibility, and a strong image of the Company.
Coordinate and prepare the Company's proposals and participate in negotiations as a resource.
Conduct investigations in response to the Company's Help Line complaints, internal and external sources, and federal and state agencies.
Work collaboratively with Office of Diversity in performing investigations involving employees in protected classes.
Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Job Requirements:
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills to develop and deliver training. Advanced
Knowledge of concepts followed by National Labor Relations Board and labor arbitrators is desired.
Intermediate
Solid decision making skills to effectively gather information, analyze facts, weigh risks and make appropriate decisions/recommendations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including conflict management and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of state and federal employment law is required. Advanced
5 years – Labor relations, human resources, or related experience. Required
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and sensitive information.
Bachelor's Degree Labor relations, human resources, business, related field or equivalent training and experience. Required
Good coaching, mediation and consulting skills. Intermediate
