    About the department:

    ING provides banking services and complex financing solutions to companies globally.

    To provide a safe banking environment for society and our customers, ING must comply with global Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations including maintaining robust Know Your Customer (KYC) controls. As such, we are actively fighting human trafficking, smuggling of drugs and weapons and do make sure international sanctions against countries and regimes are correctly executed within ING.

    The KYC team in North America is offering a position in New York for a professional who enjoys working in an international banking environment. The KYC (Know Your Client) department coordinates all KYC related activities across different ING business sectors, both with external clients and internal stakeholders.

    The KYC team is crucial in the onboarding of new customers and plays a key role in managing the non-financial risk of the current client portfolio.

    About the position:

    KYC Americas is the first line of defense unit responsible for CDD, FATCA, CRS, ESR and Name Screenings for business throughout the Americas region. Business units include Financial Markets, Structured Finance, Corporate Clients, and Syndications. Customer Domain Unit (CDU) Americas works closely with GMU, Compliance, Tax, and Account Management & Control (New York's local FM onboarding team).

    Your key responsibilities:

  • Manage internal and external staff as it relates to day-to-day processing of CDD reviews to ensure timely completion of reviews, waivers and priority files
  • Manage relationship with suppliers / third party providers
  • Review and approve incoming transfers and exits
  • Manage CIRC Requests, including extensions for funding waivers
  • Oversee the output of signatory and SWAT teams in charge of complex/ problematic reviews
  • Ensure the implementation of new policies and WPI within the production teams
  • Interface with PAMs, LAMs, client service teams, and global CDU teams to ensure prompt review of CDD files from a signatory perspective
  • Report to senior management and internal control teams
  • Identify processing bottlenecks and pain points and proactively tackle them
  • Leverage deep knowledge of KYC/CDU process
  • Leverage deep knowledge of US regulatory requirements

    Candidate Profile:

    Qualifications/Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years' experience within KYC domain
  • Prior managerial experience in client on-boarding/customer due diligence/know your customer domains
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced skills are beneficial
  • ACAMS certification preferredDesired Skills & Abilities:
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Able to act with a sense of urgency while maintaining composure and professionalism
  • Confidence to interface with Front Office and Senior level stakeholders
  • Flexibility to work collaboratively or independently depending on the situation
  • Ability to manage and motivate staff
  • Ability to run projects and initiatives with limited supervisionSalary range: $170K – $210K
