Main Purpose of the Role:


Léman Manhattan is one of the only PreK-12 independent schools in lower Manhattan, serving the fastest growing residential neighborhood in New York City.

Position Description:


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Present as a positive representation of the school with a solution oriented approach.
  • Schedule and coordinate calendar for the Division Head and make all meeting arrangements.
  • Act as communication liaison for Division Head with the school community.
  • Produce agendas and materials needed for administrative meetings.
  • Will provide confidential, consistent, and professional support to both Division Heads, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational, writing and editing skills, and an ability to anticipate the needs of the office using independent judgment.
  • Manages a variety of projects and assignments.
  • Establish Efficient Systems and Processes: Develop and implement streamlined systems and processes across various areas to support smooth operation of CECE and LS
  • Coordinate Parent Conferences:

Collaborate in scheduling parent conferences, ensuring efficient coordination and communication.- Ability to create presentations using a variety of presentation resources using Power Point, Prezi, Keynote, etc.- Coordinate student busing service, including communication with families, New York City Department of Education, and private bus company- Organize substitute teacher coverages and maintain communication with internal substitute teachers and external substitute agencies- Generate daily Early Childhood and Lower School attendance report; monitor late arrivals- Monitor Early Childhood and Lower School supplies and ordering- Maintain Early Childhood and Lower School budgets and processes related to purchasing (purchase orders, reimbursements, etc.)- Attend a variety of school-organized social events/functions.

Undertake all other administrative duties as assigned by the Head of CECE and LS, contributing to the efficient operation of the division.

Participate in CECE and LS Curriculum Nights and other evening events hosted by the CECE and LS division, representing and supporting the Head of CECE and LS.- BA degree- 2-5 years experience as an administrative assistant or similar position- Excellent verbal and written communications skills- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, word and google apps of calendar, docs, slides, sheets, etc.
