    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a visionary and strategic Director, Product Marketing to spearhead the development of the Product Marketing function at MasterClass. As our first Director, Product Marketing, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and build this critical function from the ground up, driving the success of our online learning platform through innovative product narratives and comprehensive marketing strategies. This role places a heavy emphasis on innovation, requiring a forward-thinking individual who can blend data-driven insights with creative thinking to influence product innovation and disrupt the online learning industry. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of online education, pushing boundaries, and redefining the way individuals engage with learning content.

    What You Will Do:

    • Function Development: Lead the creation and development of the Product Marketing function at MasterClass, establishing processes, frameworks, and best practices to drive the success of our online learning products.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive product marketing strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention, aligning with MasterClass's brand and overarching business goals.
    • Influencing Product Innovation: Collaborate closely with product development teams to influence the direction of our product offerings, leveraging market insights and consumer research to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
    • Analytical Insights: Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making, identify market trends, and optimize marketing campaigns for maximum impact and ROI.
    • Creative Campaign Development: Lead the development of fully integrated high-impact marketing campaigns, leveraging insights and data to craft compelling narratives and creative assets.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product, design, engineering, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of product marketing initiatives into overall product development and marketing strategies.
    • Performance Analysis: Establish metrics and KPIs to track the performance of product marketing initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous optimization and improvement.
    • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing product marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

    • Product Marketing Expertise: Extensive experience in product marketing, preferably in the technology or digital media industry, with a strong understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics.
    • Strategic Planning: Exceptional strategic planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive product marketing strategies that drive business growth and achieve key objectives.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
    • Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence and drive results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    The salary range listed is for NYC/CA/WA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.

    MasterClass's salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. In addition to salary, we also offer equity and comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, flexible PTO, and more). The range listed is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.
