    We are seeking a dynamic Director of Unified Communication to spearhead our communication and collaboration strategy, harnessing the power of voice, conferencing, video platforms and other advanced tools.

    As a key member of our team, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of unified communication solutions that optimize productivity, streamline information sharing, and elevate the overall employee experience.

    Moreover, you will oversee the management of meeting producers for live, virtual, and hybrid events, ensuring exceptional delivery.


    Essential Duties & Job Functions:

    Strategic Vision:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive unified communication strategy that aligns with our business objectives and enterprise architecture while supporting our life sciences endeavors

    Conferencing Platform Mastery:
    Utilize your deep expertise with platforms such as Zoom, Teams, and WebEx to enable capabilities for seamless virtual meetings, video conferencing, and remote collaboration

    Technology Leadership:
    Lead a high-performing team responsible for architecting, deploying, and maintaining unified communication solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security

    Meeting Producer Enablement:
    Furnish meeting producers with the necessary tools and capabilities, along with the essential oversight, to successfully coordinate seamless live, virtual, and hybrid events

    Innovation:
    Stay at the forefront of emerging communication technologies and trends, evaluating their potential to enhance our communication landscape and drive competitive advantage

    Vendor Collaborations:
    Foster robust relationships with technology vendors and partners, collaborating to optimize our communication ecosystem and maintain a forward-looking roadmap

    Enhancing User Experience:
    Champion an outstanding user experience, exploring avenues to enhance accessibility, user-friendliness, and efficiency across our communication tools

    Change Management:
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth technology transitions, providing training, support, and guidance for new communication solutions

    Budget Oversight:
    Manage budget planning and allocation, effectively utilizing resources to deliver high-impact communication solutions while maintaining cost-effectiveness

    Basic Qualifications:


    10+ years of relevant experience and BS in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience OR 8+ years of relevant experience, with a M.S.

    in a related field.
    A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in unified communication, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.


    Conferencing Platform Expertise:
    Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimizing the Zoom and Teams platforms for large organizations, with a successful track record of deployments, enhancements and integration

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Life Sciences Acumen:
    Familiarity with the distinct communication needs and regulatory considerations within the life sciences industry is highly advantageous

    Strategic Thinker:
    Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, aligning technology with overarching business goals

    Effective Team Leadership:
    Exceptional leadership and management skills, with a history of building and motivating high-performing teams

    Meeting Production:
    Experience managing meeting producers for live, virtual, and hybrid events, ensuring seamless event execution

    Vendor Relationship Management:
    Strong skills in vendor relationship management, including negotiation and performance oversight

    Communication Excellence:
    Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels

    Innovative Mindset:
    A creative thinker who is proactive in exploring and implementing new technologies to drive continuous improvement

    The salary range for this position is:
    $199, $258, Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
