Description
Supports and advises the Assistant Secretary on foreign policy issues, with emphasis on issues concerning economic statecraft, but also provides advice and guidance on issues of foreign relations and national security law as relevant.
Represents the Bureau at meetings and conferences; participates in meetings at the Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) and working levels; reaches out to key stakeholders within and outside the Department, including both Americans and Europeans.
Works closely with European partners and partners in intergovernmental organizations, including the European Union (EU) and United Nations (UN), to develop policy actions that achieve shared goals.
Reviews papers from other offices, analyzing and preparing remarks and recommending strategies and approaches.Briefs senior officials on sensitive issues and developments.
