- Directs all patient care services for the team, including volunteer and bereavement, guaranteeing they align with the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Collaborates with the team physician and attending physician as required, serving as a clinical resource for the team.
- Supervises team schedules and service coordination to ensure comprehensive patient coverage.
- Provides patient care within their scope of practice during periods of necessity.
- Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, and dismisses team staff in collaboration with the Patient Care Administrator.
- Ensures staff competency through field visits, documentation evaluations, and team-based in-services.
- Acts as a mentor for staff on clinical matters, documentation, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Oversees staff and volunteer schedules, ensuring equitable workload distribution.
- Reviews and approves payroll to guarantee accurate documentation of time, mileage, and expenses.
- Monitors clinical records and team activities to uphold required standards according to VITAS policy and regulatory bodies.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives and complies with QAPI program.
- Assists with surveys and requests from regulatory bodies and conducts chart reviews for quality assurance.
- Resolves service issues promptly and satisfactorily, analyzing and addressing customer service problems within the team.
- Participates in facility visits to ensure care plan integration and customer satisfaction.
- Engages in professional and community service organizations.
- Verifies treatments, staffing, and supplies to manage resources effectively.
- Approves all bills and oversees scheduling to meet productivity expectations.
- Attends training sessions and develops professional growth goals.
- Participates as a mentor for newly hired Team Managers to foster their development.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
