    Description

    LaSalle Network is currently partnered with a Fintech company looking for a Senior Collections Specialist to join their team. The position is fully remote but has centralized hubs based in the Chicago, Dallas, Florida or California area. The role does require collections experience within the Fintech space and the ideal candidate will be a top performer with shown career progression.

    As a Senior Collections Specialist, your main responsibility is to help the company recover outstanding debts owed by customers. You will be responsible for contacting customers who have overdue payments and negotiating payment plans to bring their accounts up to date. Your goal is to recover as much money as possible while maintaining positive relationships with customers.

    Senior Collections Specialist Responsibilities:

    • Manage the collections process from start to finish, including contacting delinquent customers, negotiating payment plans and resolving disputes
    • Analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and prioritize collection efforts
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce delinquency rates and improve collections efficiency
    • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including correspondence and payment arrangements
    • Collaborate with sales, customer service and finance teams to resolve customer issues and address root causes of late payments
    • Provide regular updates and reports to management on the status of collections efforts, including key metrics such as DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and bad debt reserves
    • Mentor and train junior collections staff, providing guidance and support to ensure departmental goals are met
    • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to collections and credit management
    • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management
    Senior Collections Specialist Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred
    • Ability to show career progression required (ex. Collections Representative to Collections Specialist to Senior Collections Specialist, etc.).
    • 3+ years of experience in collections, with a proven track record of success in reducing delinquency rates and improving cash flow
    • Strong understanding of collections principles, practices and techniques
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software applications
    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
