- Work with community partners, cultural organizations as well as internal departments, schools, student groups and the office of Campus and Student Services to facilitate the successful planning and execution of Haven Plaza events and programming.
- Coordinate and execute key community engagement events - e.g. Healthy Haven, Autumn Haven, Holiday Lighting, Movie nights, Pianos at the Plaza, holiday toy drive, annual food drive, arts, and cultural events.
- Work with City's Plaza Program and other local agencies to ensure compliance of Plaza and implementation of plaza uses, policies and procedures.
- Lead contact to manage and process community space use requests and coordinate all space use logistics.
- Foster positive and collaborative relations with local organizations, community residents, businesses, city, and state stakeholders.
- Design marketing and outreach materials to promote events and programs with target audiences in a timely fashion.
- Report, prepare and deliver presentations to update on office programs and events.
- Manage and maintain plaza web presence - update online calendar of events, write pre and post event articles, share images, videos and testimonials to keep the community abreast of program activities.
- Represent CUIMC at community meetings, and other plaza-related campus, community engagement and reporting activities.
- Monitor the use and success of community programing and events at the Plaza;
- Assists the OACP office in the implementation of community engagement programs, research forums and in the execution of office events and special projects.
- Represent CUIMC in key community meetings, networking events and activities.
- Assists and support in all community-facing communications.
- Handles email and phone inquiries and maintains updated mailing lists and contacts.
- Performs other operational duties in line with office overall office goals.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, with related events planning, communications and community service program experience preferred, plus three years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, manage, implement, and monitor projects and events from conception to completion.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, to include evenings and weekends, in order to meet the programing goals and be present at community meetings and events.
- Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
- Must possess ability to work independently while supporting the efforts of the team;
- Strong command of MS Office tools including PowerPoint, Excel.
- Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and events.
- Familiarity with the Northern Manhattan area and bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Position Summary
The Office of Academic and Community Partnership (OACP) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as the program coordinator. OACP serves as the central office for advancing the medical center's research, education, clinical care and community service mission by fostering community collaborative partnerships and strengthening bidirectional relationships with our neighbors, community-based organizations, faith-based leaders and city and state stakeholders. The program coordinator will be an integral part of the office team contributing to supporting and enhancing community and academic partnerships, collaborating with CUIMC schools, departments, faculty and staff and community-based organizations, partners, and stakeholders to facilitate community initiatives and programs with the goal of improving health and well-being of the surrounding community.
Reporting to the Vice President for Community Affairs and Partnership Engagement and working closely with campus facilities management team and external community partners, the coordinator will manage the programing and execution of high visibility events at Haven Plaza, serve as the primary contact for community space use inquiries, providing program and event planning logistics support for internal and external partners. The candidate will support the OACP team in meeting the day-to-day office operations, programming, community engagements and activities goals.
