    APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO BE CONSIDERED. The Bureau of EMS & Preparedness has an exciting opportunity for a Health Operations Field Coordinator. The position is located on Old Penitentiary Road in Boise. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in working with EMS personnel and agencies.

    The Health Operations Field Coordinator position will work directly with EMS personnel, agencies, and other internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve EMS services to the citizens of Idaho.

    The Field Coordinator will accomplish this by collaborating with other staff and supervisors to monitor the process, compliance and data collection for personnel and agency licensing.

    This position requires in-state and out of state travel, including some evenings and weekends, to provide trainings, technical assistance to EMS agencies, perform EMS system assessments, and complete EMS regulatory investigations.

    A current driver's license is required. Your driving record must meet department requirements to operate state vehicles as a condition of initial and continued employment. Failure to maintain these requirements during employment with the department will result in disqualification from this position.

    Driving record department requirements stipulate that the individual has not, within the previous three years, been:
    + Convicted of more than two moving traffic violations. + Convicted of or received a withheld judgment for any traffic related offense as listed in Titles 18 and 49, Idaho Code. + A party to a lawsuit in which a judgment was entered against the individual based on the individual's negligent operation of a vehicle. + Have pending charges of convictions of recklessly operating a vehicle.     EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
    + Researches codes, rules, and policies to become a subject matter expert, develops written interpretations, recommends updates and modifications, communicates information and oversees implementation of any changes with the community. + Responds to inquiries regarding codes, rules, policies and procedures; develops clarifications, new procedures and instructions for emergency medical service agencies, providers, physicians, hospitals, county officials, public health districts and acts as a liaison with other state programs, divisions, and departments to provide technical assistance. + Provides evaluations for local officials and agencies on site. + Compiles evaluation findings, analyzes statistics, identifies causes, and prepares reports and recommendations for use in corrective action planning or alternative solutions. + Identifies misunderstood and misapplied codes, rules, policies and procedures. + Assesses need for training in implementing policies and procedures and in correcting procedural errors. + Develops and disseminates training materials; may develop training plans; develops and conducts training; prepares program informational materials. + Conducts or participates in local meetings, trainings, site visits, exams, and system assessments in person based on resources and needs of Idaho communities. + Investigates irregularities and complaints of potential violations relating to Idaho code and administrative rules for legal review. + Develops and recommends corrective or license actions for review. + Responds to inquiries and consults with staff to interface with electronic systems and assure effective data collection, accurate electronic records maintenance and to develop and update internal policies, procedures, and materials.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Certification or licensure as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic by any state within the past five years. + Considerable knowledge of requirements, characteristics, and national standards for a public health discipline.

    Typically requires at least one year of work experience researching, interpreting and implementing current requirements, characteristics and national standards for a public health discipline, which could include emergency medical services, vital statistics, or other similar public health fields.

    + Good knowledge of current laws and regulations governing law-programs; basic legal rights and procedures regarding laws; experience researching and interpreting law-regulations.

    Typically requires at least one year of work experience.


    Experience must include:
    advising on basic legal rights and procedures, researching and interpreting laws and regulations. + Some knowledge of training methods and developing educational materials.

    Typically requires at least 16 hours of training in communication concepts, learning styles, course design, and presentation skills OR experience presenting formal training sessions to groups AND experience developing training materials such as outlines, lessons plans, slideshows, handouts, manuals, and instructional guidelines.

    + Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures.
    Typically requires at least one year of experience where drafting policies and procedures was a responsibility. + Experience using computer applications software.

    Typically requires at least one year of working where software such as Excel and Word were used and having a general understanding of computer programs; using a major computer system application and an understanding of how the integrity of data/information is protected.

    + Current driver's license.
