**Shift: Full Time Monday thru Friday 8-5**
**GENERAL SUMMARY**
This position is responsible for assisting with the purchasing and inventory management for the hospital. This individual must communicate with all departments to assist in the purchasing of medical supplies to provide patient care and of non-medical supplies for the running of the hospital. This includes assisting with the pricing of quality products, maintaining the inventory, negotiating pricing, interacting with internal customers to assure that needs is being met. Ensures accuracy of billing by reviewing and approving invoices for supplies and equipment. Assist with the process of product recalls from manufacturers and the FDA including review of supplies, removing applicable supply and processing according to the recall notice. Ensures the reporting of any product or equipment failures according to policy and applicable regulations.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
Call in purchase orders. Check and document shipping dates and pricing.
Communicate with all departments to assist in the purchasing of the necessary medical supplies to provide patient care and of non-medical supplies for the hospital.
Assist with, verify, and document all deliveries of supplies, equipment and various goods to the hospital.
Ensures accuracy of billing by reviewing and approving invoices for supplies and equipment.
Assists with, verify, and process product recalls from manufacturers and the FDA including review of supplies, removing applicable supply and processing according to the recall notice.
Place items into the Storeroom and ready stock for distribution.
Ensure timely response to departmental periodic supply request.
Perform daily report activities.
Complies with policy and procedure for storeroom requirements including fire code requirements, cleaning of the storeroom and the removal of recalled items.
**MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED**
Know the definitions of fundamental computer terms related to applications software and desktop PC's
Know how to open, read, and respond to email
Know how to manage electronic files
Know how to print electronic documents and reports
**MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
Preferred 1-2 years experience in Material Management in a hospital.
**LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION**
None required, but prefer obtaining and maintaining BCLS training
**ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
Able to read, write and communicate in English. Have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing, decision making and excellent communication skills. Must have sterile technique skills.
Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation.
Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
Communication skills to deal well with employees, patients, families and physicians.
Work in a temperature controlled environment. Also in heat and cold during receiving/loading/unloading of supplies.
Job requires physical ability for long-term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist.
Potential for contact with chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease.
Contact with laser and chemicals.
Able to lift pounds using proper lifting techniques several times during shift.
