Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional member and guest service to all golfers at Houston Oaks.

The attendant makes a critical first and last impression on each golfer based upon their appearance, friendliness, professionalism and level of service.

The condition of the carts, cart staging area, practice facilities and surrounding areas are also essential to our mission of creating Raving Fans during each and every visit.


Essential Functions:


  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of property management system and manual procedures.
  • Set up and organize work station with designated supplies, forms and resource materials; report shortages to supervisor.
  • Be familiar with all hotel golf packages, promotions, prices and rates.
  • Greet Guests.
  • Issue Golf Carts, review operational use with guest.
  • Issue Rental Equipment, as requested.
  • Process Return of Rental Equipment.
  • Inventory Rental Items.
  • Monitor and maintain Driving Range and Lesson Tee area.
  • Ensure ample supply of balls in Golf Ball Dispenser.
  • Accept Returned Carts.
  • Maintain Golf Cart Maintenance.
  • Greet members and guests at their vehicles promptly upon arrival with a genuinely friendly "Good Morning", "Good Afternoon", etc. and offer to assist them with their clubs and cart.
  • Provide directions as to where to go and check-in process for those who have not been to the club.
  • Explain where food & beverage services can be obtained.
  • Record every cart number issued with a name of the member or guest checking it out and notify pro shop.
  • NEVER issue a cart to a junior who is under the age of 16, unless they can provide verification that they have completed the club driver certification program. If so, the cart should be marked with the appropriate colored flag, clearly showing that this cart has been properly checked out.
  • Clean and detail carts as needed daily.
  • Patrol surrounding areas frequently and maintain a 100% "litter free" environment in cart staging area, cart barn area, practice areas and all connecting points in between.
  • NEVER issue a dirty cart or one without sand containers and water cooler filled properly.
  • Run for personal bags and/or carts as requested from Pro Shop.
  • Meet golfers as they return to their vehicles and ALWAYS offer to clean their clubs at no charge.
  • Collect and wash range balls daily as directed.
  • Turn in all "Lost & Found" items to Pro Shop promptly and note date, time and location of discovery.
  • Make periodic runs to comfort stations to check on bottled water levels. Never place spare bottles in outdoor cupboards.
  • Replace cart cards for marketing purposes as directed.
  • Attend periodic staff meetings as requested by management.
  • Keep abreast of club activities, events and construction schedules to be able to respond correctly to member and guest inquiries. Never "Wing It" with an answer. If you don't know, offer to go find another staff person who has the correct answer and report back to the person inquiring.
  • Collect and return carts to cart barn or staff cart areas as needed daily.
  • Observe and strictly abide by the club Ten Commandments for all staff.
  • All duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager and/or by the CEO.
