    Job Title: Major Gifts Officer
    Department: Development
    Reports To: Senior Director of Development
    FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt

    About the Job: The Major Gifts Officer position at Apollo involves overseeing donor engagement and strategic fundraising initiatives. It requires successfully identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors to boost annual support and secure multiyear commitments. This role involves building strong donor relationships, devising strategies to grow the prospect pipeline, and contributing towards achieving ambitious fundraising goals.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Manage a portfolio of 50-75 donors, focusing on increasing annual gifts and securing new donations of $10,000 or more.
    • Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts for current and potential donors contributing $10,000 or more.
    • Collaborate with Apollo leadership and colleagues to explore innovative ways to engage donors.
    • Develop strategies to expand opportunities among high-net-worth individuals.
    • Coordinate major gift activities, manage gift tracking systems, and support special events.
    • Work closely with the Development Team and senior management for forecasting and tracking major gifts.
    • Assist in Patron cultivation arrangements and provide high-level hospitality at events.
    • Participate in meetings and engage with volunteers and Board members as needed.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 3-5 years of nonprofit individual giving experience.
    • Strong communication and analytical skills.
    • Ability to create financial reports and collaborate effectively across departments.
    • Experience with nonprofit database systems is beneficial.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of the NYC arts and culture sector.

    Annual Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000

    Vaccination Required: The company mandates vaccination but considers accommodations for medical and religious reasons.

    Hybrid Work Environment: This role may involve a hybrid schedule allowing for remote work a few days a week.
