    About the Position

    Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Teaching Support, the Associate Director is responsible for overseeing curriculum implementation for Kellogg, including instructional classroom usage/scheduling, maintenance of course data and course configuration for student registration. The Associate Director leads the Academic Calendar Committee and liaises with partners across Kellogg and NU. This position is responsible for frequent reporting of all course data, ensuring it is accurately reflected across multiple systems, and any changes to the schedule are effectively communicated to faculty, administrators, and students. The Associate Director develops and maintains technology solutions in service of the Curriculum Committee's mandate to support the quality, coherence, and relevance of the curriculum.

    The Associate Director of Curriculum plays a pivotal role in Experiential Learning as a dedicated central resource for faculty, Corporate Partnerships, and students. This role involves actively sourcing, facilitating, and advising on projects, while upholding best practices. The role will also be responsible for formulating consistent policies, such as grading guidelines, coordinating non-disclosure agreements, and providing essential administrative support. A critical aspect of this role is to foster collaborative relationships with counterparts at peer institutions to ensure the attainment of industry-wide standards. Additionally, the Associate Director will actively collaboration with experiential learning faculty, aiding in the establishment of overarching objectives and devising methods for assessing progress towards these goals.

    Specific Responsibilities :

    Curriculum Implementation
    • Partner with the Director and other key stakeholders within Kellogg and across NU in developing and disseminating the academic calendar and quarterly class schedule information.
    • Administer significant curriculum changes, such as renumbering or renaming of curricula and changing academic requirements.
    • With the Director, oversee the implementation of the MBA and EMBA course schedule, including:
    • liaising extensively with the course support team to collect accurate course information.
    • Soliciting faculty room and equipment needs. Responsible for all room reservations related to curriculum matters, requiring extensive collaboration with partners across Kellogg:
    • Entering and approving room requests in the Room and Event System (RES).
    • Mediating conflicts over room reservations for faculty and senior administrators
    • Working with faculty to schedule make-up classes and review sessions.
    • Determining business requirements for the class scheduling/room assignment process, utilizing Leepfrog/CLSS and CollegeNet 25Live/R25 technologies and tools in collaboration with the central Office of the Registrar, NUIT, other registrar staff, and department managers.
    Responsibilities specifically related to Experiential Learning include:
    • Source and curate diverse and impactful projects for Experiential Learning courses in collaboration with faculty and Corporate Partnerships.
    • Provide guidance and advisement to stakeholders on best practices for effective Experiential Learning course design and execution.
    • Develop, communicate, and uphold consistent policies, including grading criteria and non-disclosure agreements, to ensure fairness and professionalism.
    • Offer comprehensive administrative support to facilitate the seamless execution of Experiential Learning initiatives.
    • Cultivate relationships with peer institutions to establish and adhere to industry-wide standards for Experiential Learning programs.
    • Collaborate closely with experiential learning faculty to collectively define and refine the overarching goals of Experiential Learning at Kellogg.
    • Devise robust methods for measuring and assessing progress towards the established goals, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the Experiential Learning experience.
    Curricular Data Integrity and Reporting
    • Responsible for frequent reporting to ensure the integrity of the course data in Oracle Campus Solutions (PeopleSoft), course configuration for student registration in the BidReg course bidding system, and integration with facilities reservation software.
    • Run queries and analyze room usage and class schedule data to optimize room and seat utilization. Monitor performance against Dean's Office targets.
    • Advises on maintenance of the course catalog so information is accurate, current, presented in a way that facilitates intentional student decision-making.
    • Produce reports and dashboards for the Dean's Office and partners to better consume relevant curricular information.
    Website Presence & Communications
    • Ensure that all electronic resources (public and internal) reflect current course offerings, meet student needs, and comply with federal laws mandating publication of course materials prior to registration cycles.
    • Collaborate with the academic advising team on advising communications to students regarding curriculum updates and changes.
    • Implements a communications strategy for faculty and departments to distribute curricular information with students
    • Collaborates with the Director to develop the strategic vision for the school's curricular digital presence; maintain the site (including all academic and experiential public-facing pages), ensuring content is up-to-date; and work with partners in marcomm on the implementation of any needed updates or changes.
    Technology
    • Manage the technology platforms used to support experiential learning applications and job postings, working closely with Kellogg Information Systems (KIS) on enhancements and changes to the requisite platforms.
    • Create and maintain technology solutions that support the quality and evolution of the curriculum.
    Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances)
    • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
    • 3 years of progressive higher education experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
    • Experience in customer service delivery.
    • Experience in leadership and management of teams and projects.
    • Experience serving on small and large teams.

    • High level of computer proficiency, including knowledge of student information systems like Oracle Campus Solutions (PeopleSoft),, Microsoft Excel and Word, email applications such as Outlook, and familiarity with reporting tools like PowerBI
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze data.
    • Political acumen with the ability to be socially perceptive and relate well to students, administrators (staff), faculty, and general public on issues that may be sensitive.
    Preferred Qualifications: (Education and experience)
    • Strong supervisory experience, preferably in a university setting.

    • Registration or Academic Advising experience

    Target hiring range for this position will be between $76, ,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
