***: Erikson's FAN (Facilitating Attuned Interactions) is an evidence-informed, promising practice approach for relationship building and reflective practice that is used nationally and internationally in a wide range of child-serving systems. In health care, the FAN is viewed as a tool to bring the values of Early Relational Health into frontline practice. The Pediatric FAN Project Manager/Trainer will manage, implement, and help evaluate a new, three-year collaborative initiative with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to expand the use of the health care. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Pediatric FAN Pediatric FAN Project Manager/Trainer will serve as the primary contact with the AAP and will collaborate to identify and prepare residency programs to incorporate the FAN, partner to develop educational programming for practicing pediatricians, and play an integrative role in infusing the FAN into HealthySteps. The Pediatric FAN Project Manager/Trainer will also be a part of the FAN Team providing FAN training in areas of their expertise. The position is grant-funded: 80% from foundation grant funding for Physician FAN project and 20% from FAN funding for related FAN training.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

CORE FUNCTION 1:
Project Management and Coordination


  • Working collaboratively with the Executive Director serves as the primary contact with the AAP to oversee the timely implementation of all collaborative project activities. This includes scheduling meetings, developing meeting agendas, writing minutes of meetings, developing and monitoring timelines, managing logistics, tracking expenses, conducting activities within their work scope, and ensuring high quality project deliverables are prepared on a timely basis.
  • Organizes and staffs the Project Advisory Group, collaborating to plan and evaluate the meetings and ensure that all members are involved and compensated for their designated activities.
  • Partners with the AAP to identify residency programs meeting the project criteria, develop MOUs with residency programs to ensure all project requirements and resources are in place, and provide technical assistance and monitoring to support implementation of FAN in residency programs.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Director of New Initiatives to integrate the infusion of FAN into HealthySteps into the larger project.
  • Participates in FAN Team Meetings to share progress and coordinate project activities with larger FAN training effort; represents the project in FAN Network Meetings; explores and creates ways that the Network can support and expand the use FAN in health care and perinatal mental health.

CORE FUNCTION 2:
Curriculum Development and Training


  • Conducts an environmental scan of residency programs to learn the current requirements, formats, and challenges which will impact the implementation of project curriculum and training; prepare a written reporting including recommendations for project activities.
  • Coordinates the development of and contributes to adaptations of the Physician FAN to meet the different formats and needs of residency programs; this includes conceptual and technical work including PowerPoint formatting and editing; works in partnership with Executive Director, Associate Director of New Initiatives, and others on FAN team to integrate curriculum revisions with FAN core curriculum.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of a Physician FAN TraintheTrainer program to prepare FANtrained physicians to teach other faculty to implement the FAN.
  • Coordinates with AAP and contributes to the development of an asynchronous FAN training program designed specifically for practicing physicians, including researching effective online learning strategies for physicians.
  • Achieves certification as a FAN trainer in the Practitioner FAN, Physician FAN, and other FAN adaptations as needed for the role.
  • Provides FAN training as part of Erikson's FAN Training Team to support FAN in health care and related service sectors.

CORE FUNCTION 3:
Project Documentation, Evaluation and Reporting


  • Maintains a weekly log of all project activities, recording successes, problems encountered, and solutions generated.
  • Tracks project activities and prepares quarterly reports for the funder; meets with funder as part of leadership team to share project progress and process.
  • Manages project evaluation in collaboration with project evaluator, ensuring that all participants understand the evaluation requirements and that project evaluation activities are implemented as planned; serves as a liaison between sites and evaluator for problemsolving.
