Responsibilities include:


  • Create a positive, caring classroom community and meaningful relationships with students
  • Create and maintain a caring, safe environment conducive to students doing their best work
  • Design engaging lessons for students based on clear learning goals
  • Observe, document and reflect on student learning
  • Implement current curriculum and contribute to its ongoing development
  • Manage day to day classroom activities including but not limited to:
  • Creating and maintaining an orderly, inclusive, physically and emotionally safe environment conducive to learning
  • Maintaining current and accurate student records
  • Providing individual learning opportunities for students as needed
  • Assist with placement testing and admission visits for prospective students
  • Carry out requisite student oversight
  • Work constructively with parents and colleagues
  • Inform parents and Division Director of students' progress through written reports and conferences
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • PA state certification preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated expertise in differentiated instruction, as well as the field of teaching in general
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth
  • Successful classroom experience preferred
  • Ability to work as a contributing, constructive team member in an educational environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to include being cooperative and congenial, and able to manage students and communicate with parents and colleagues in a courteous and effective manner
