LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a client in the Nassau County, Long Island area to find an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team.
This role involves maintaining vendor relationships, reconciling accounts, resolving discrepancies, and providing support to the finance team.
The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the company by ensuring proper payment management and adherence to financial policies and procedures. The ideal candidate would have full-cycle Accounts Payable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding, approval, and documentation.
• Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and perform payment runs, including checks, electronic transfers, and other payment methods.
• Maintain vendor records, including contact information, payment terms, and tax details.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice status, payment details, and account information.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Monitor and manage accounts payable aging, ensuring timely payments and adherence to payment terms.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar role is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
