    DMV's Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Cloud Architect in the DXP Solutions Architect Unit. The IT Specialist III's primary role is directing the development of cloud adoption plans, determine cloud application design, and create systems for managing, monitoring, and maintaining the cloud systems to meet the needs of DMV's DXP.

    The incumbent serves as enterprise-level cloud architect lead addressing and evaluating cloud computing needs, setting standards for documentation of cloud computing requirements, and guiding the translation of data between business users and technical developers; leads business analytics initiatives and decision-making processes including business, technology, and process improvements; and r esponsible for participating in complex business and systems configuration, analysis, testing and the implementation and on-going administration of key DXP initiatives.

    This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.

    Working Conditions

    Telework is available. Telework requires California residency.

    DMV operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The incumbent may be required to carry a work cell phone and laptop. There may also be times when the incumbent is required to attend an out of town conference, or work evenings and weekends to maintain project schedules.

    This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.

    Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
    • Experience in application development in cloud computing environments like AWS or other like technologies.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a cloud computing architecture knowledge base and connect it to other architecture domains.
    • Experience in UiPath, Salesforce CRM, Microsoft .Net framework., MS SQL Server, and/or Oracle database.
    • Experience in using GitHub, MuleSoft, and Microfocus ALM/Octane.
    • Computer Science Bachelor's degree or an equivalent.
    • Experience in interpreting and contextualize business strategy for operational needs
    • Experience in developing technical artifacts such as business capability maps, value streams, and customer journey maps.
    • Possess strong analytical, creative, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Detail-oriented team player who can consistently provide valuable suggestions and solutions in the delivery of products and services for the DMV's DXP.
    • Ability to interpret business needs and articulate to technical requirements.
