About this Role:

  • The BIB Chief oversees the Department's business intelligence efforts to improve business performance and to support decisions at every level of the DHCS enterprise from strategy to implementation. The primary responsibilities are enterprise oversight of business intelligence products, such as data visualization using interactive dashboards, Geographic Information Systems mapping, automation of Excel interfaces of static reports, and development of reporting measures for data being used within DHCS. Oversees and directs the work of ITM staff in both Business Intelligence Sections, ensuring coordination and efficiency. Analyzes legislation impact and advises on implementation while also managing procurement-related reporting to meet regulatory requirements. Leads the development and enforcement of business intelligence policies and standards, aligning them with organizational goals and supporting integrated data tasks across DHCS and CalHHS. Serves as the HIMD Chief's primary advisor on business intelligence policy, addressing issues and mitigating risks effectively. Leads project management efforts, ensuring DHCS compliance with data reporting policies, and orchestrates the Project Approval Lifecycle process with ETS' EPPMB for data-related projects. Supports budget processes within the Branch by crafting business intelligence-related proposals and documents, while controlling project scopes and ensuring adherence to business intelligence standards across various management processes.
