    Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Process accounts payable transactions, including reviewing invoices, obtaining approvals, coding expenses, and entering data into the accounting system.
    2. Prepare and process vendor payments, including checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    3. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
    4. Process accounts receivable transactions, including generating invoices, posting payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
    5. Prepare and analyze aging reports to monitor accounts receivable balances and collections activity.
    6. Perform bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
    7. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
    8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and documentation.
    9. Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analysis as needed.
    10. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
    11. Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
    12. Assist with special projects and process improvements as assigned by management.

    Requirements:

    1. Proven experience in accounting or related role.
    2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
    3. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and reconciliation.
    4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    6. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    7. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to accounting.
    8. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
